Joanne moved to hospital

June 25, 2007

Hi I've hacked into this blog to provide an update on Joanne's condition.

Today Joanne was admitted to the oncology ward at Pasqua Hospital. She is having some problems with intermittent fever and to be safe she has been admitted and is on I.V. antibiotics.

She is still in pain as the plural effusion has increased again but they are medicating the pain. She is resting comfortably in a private room but visiting privileges are limited.

Joanne's hemoglobin is very low so she is getting a blood transfusion either later today or tomorrow.

For now we will both be away from the house during the day and at the hospital in the evening so we won't be answering the phone. Please correspond with us using this blog.

Hacker Gord.

Thanks for keeping us posted Hacker Gord! We hope the antibiotics take care of the fever, and her low blood count improves, so Joanne can get home to enjoy the sunroom soon.
You are in our thoughts always. Feel the strength from the "Circle of Love" of family and friends.

Gord and Joanne,
Thinking of you both and can appreciate the stress of managing phone messages, so I will become a Blogger!!
Joanne, my wish for you is that you are comfortable and responding well to your treatment plan so you return home soon. Sending you warm wishes and returning copious amounts of positive energy that you so freely shared with me in the past.
Fondly,

Hi Joanne and Gord,

We have been following your blog (you've been doing a auperb job at it by the way!!). Have been too "chicken" to respond, having never done it before...so here goes the inaugural reply.
Just wanted to let you know we are holding you even closer in our thoughts and our prayers right now.
Hope you are surrounded by sunshine, support, and the best hospital staff ever.
Wishing you a peaceful weekend.

It must be a comfort to you to know that so many friends and your family are thinking of you and praying for you right now. I too send you my wishes for a quick return to your sunroom and the comforts of home. Know that you are thought of often and lifted up in prayer. May you be blessed with whatever it is you need most at this moment!
