Big Week Ahead..... treatment and moving!

Poor Heidi (our Miniature Schnauzer) is not happy with all the boxes and people going in and out... she will be going to her friends (groomer's) house this week so she will not be driven nuts by the movers... and vice versa.......

Well, it's a big week.

I have the "big" treatment Tuesday - Cisplatin and Gemzar, usually puts me out of commission for almost the full week......... and we have the "big" move ........ the movers arrive to pack Wednesday/Thursday and loading is Friday. Cleaning and final details Saturday/Sunday. I'll be lounging at the Holiday Inn while Gord, my mom and Brian man the fort - the movers do all the work, but it still takes organization and there are always oddball things that crop up.

I have no idea what the internet situation will be..........uh .......... and I forgot to sign us up for internet in Regina, so I don't have my our new email address.... stay tuned though, I will post updates...

The "little" move (Craig and Michelle to the apartment) is mostly complete now...... they are adjusting to their new life! Our Winnipeg phone number will be transferring to their apartment August 4, so that number remains in effect.... we can be reached there or by our cell phones...

Here is my little bit of inspiration for today........... I have no idea who this guy was, but this quote struck me as we embark on these major changes in our lives this summer:

"Hope is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense, regardless of how it turns out"..... Vaclav Havel

Hi Jo!
Wow - you guys have a big week ahead! We'll be thinking about you all. Thanks for the cute picture of Heidi - she must be very confused about all of the moves. And thanks for all of the updates.
I'll call you tomorrow and Good luck with everything this week.

Yes Good luck missus!!! I know you'll be monitoring it all from base camp at the hotel.

Good quote, and it is a good move too, near people who love you and will be able to offer support.

Hope the treatment isn't too shitty this time. That poor old bod of your.

Love to you and yours

Anna

You do have a busy week ahead. Good luck with this next tough treatment Joanne. It's good that you are heading to a hotel where you can rest and take care of yourself. Sounds like you have a great moving crew on deck. I hope you can feel the support of all of us as you continue on your treatment journey. I recent "absorbed" the words of a hymn that I have heard many times before. The gist of it is: We are companions on a journey...in the love we bear is the hope we share...and we believe in the love of our God. It hit me how this sentiment applies to every aspect of our lives.

With love and hope,
N & L, Clagary

That is a cute doggie! Maybe you can sleep all this week and when you wake, you'll be feeling better and all the moving will be complete. Either that or watch comedies from your post at the Holiday Inn. Love your quotes and updates. Take care.

Hi Joanne, Good luck this week with your big treatment and the packing. I hope that everything goes smoothly and that you can just rest and not worry. I will be heading to Regina at the end of August and I look forward to big hugs and a latte when I hit Regina. Please stay in touch.
Love, Loretta

Hi Jo,
Thanks for the update. I had hoped to call tonight, but we got back late. Good luck tomorrow and with the move.

oh and about the quote..he was (is?) the first president of the Czech Republic and prior to that, an author, playwright and a poet (and a lung cancer survivor). I'm not sure how well he governed, but imagine a world with more poets in power!

take care and we will be thinking good thoughts for you this week.

Hi darling Joanne...

Can only pray that everything goes as smoothly as possible. Can't wait to see you in a couple of weeks!! It doesn't seem possible, as I sit here and look over Sydney Harbour in winter, that I'll be in Regina in summer in a couple of weeks.

Really, truly, can't wait. Don't forget that you've got Thelma, Louise and Fe coming to help "fix" the moving chaos!!

Love love love, Fe xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hello Joanne, I have been at the lake and not online for a few days. Your big week and the move will be over by now. I really appreciate the blog and being able to keep up with your big changes. I miss the conversations in person though. Please send your Regina phone number soon. Lots of love and positive vibes!! Claire

I too have been away from my PC for a week or so, doing the annual Alberta tour. Renee, her friend and I had a great time on our little roadtrip, however, travelling with 2-15 year old girls, I am quite "malled out". I am planning to be in Winnipeg for Scott's football game on the 20th, but you may be here already! Hope you are feeling better now that it is week 2 of the regime. Talk to you soon, either in Wpg or at home in Regina. Looking forward to having you, Gord and Brian as neighbours.
Excellent quote by the way and thanks Darryl for the details of the author.
Take care,
Peggy
