Not much new !

No news is good news - I've just gotten through the tougher parts of my 5th cycle of this newest round of chemo (Myocet + Cytoxin), and am back to feeling OK. I had a blood transfusion on Monday as my hemoglobin had again dropped too low (common with chemo), and so my blood counts should now be in good shape for the next little while.

I still seem to need the oxygen, the morphine, the wheelchair and the bedrest, but as long as I do all of these I actually manage very well, and feel quite well on a day-to-day basis. Thank goodness for my mom and my family, because they manage to see that I have the best life I can from my little world !!!!!! My mom continues to be here with me whenever Gord or Brian are away from the house.

So, all in all, things are stable and that is great !!!!

Well Joanne sometimes not much new is quite okay. We have been dealing with frequent rain and cool weather, not ideal for the farmers and their crops so there is some anxiety around our house at this time. Trees are turning color and some have already dropped their leaves. Most of the flowers that are left are at a stand still so I guess that suggests it's time to get out there and start cleaning up the yard.
As usual we send our thoughts and prayers your way and trust that peace remains your constant companion.

Jo, you sound down in the dumps! You MUST maintain that positive outlook of yours! Because I feel it when I read your posts, all the way over here in Belle River! Chin up! You're right, no news is good news! Tell ya what... a joke for you... it's bound to make you smile!

An 80-year-old man goes for physical. All tests come back with normal results. The doctor says, "George, everything looks great. How are you doing mentally and emotionally? Are you at peace with God?"

George replies, "God and I are real tight. He knows I have poor eyesight, so he's fixed it so when I get in up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom - poof! The light goes on. When I'm done, Poof! The light goes off."

"Wow, that's incredible," says the doctor.

A little later in the day, the doctor calls George's wife to give her an update. "Ethel," he says, "George is doing fine! But I had to call you because I'm in awe of his relationship with God. Is it true that he gets up during the night and poof! the light goes on in the bathroom, and when he's done, poof! the light goes off?"

"Oh my God!" Ethel exclaims. "He's peeing in the fridge again!"

Love you Jo-Jo!

Joanne:
Glas to see that your blog was updated. I was hoping that you were just resting and taking good care of yourself. Thinking of you often. You are lucky to have your sunroom to enjoy during this time of year. Take care. I am continuing to send positive thoughts and wishes your way.

Hi Joanne,
You certainly don't sound down in the dumps to me! In fact, after seeing you a couple of times this weekend and enjoying a family dinner (with you, Gord,Brian and others) at your parents' home, I know for sure that you are doing great! It was so nice to see you well enough for that outing. I know the chemo this week will knock you back for awhile, but it sure appears to be doing its job. Continue to enjoy your "little world" and the trips out whenever you are up for them! We'll be with you in spirit over the post-chemo days. Love and the promise of continued prayers, Nick and Lorraine

Yay Nick and Lorraine!! Thanks for that! SO glad to recieve that report! Sorry Jo, didn't mean to be a downer... I guess I'm just concerned for your mental well being... and just needed an excuse to tell my joke!

With love and prayers,

Jan
